About this facility

A tire recycling facility collects scrap tires from tire dealers, auto shops, haulers and the public and processes them into usable products: shredded tire-derived fuel for cement kilns and boilers, crumb rubber for playgrounds, tracks and asphalt, and tire-derived aggregate for civil engineering. Whole tires are banned from most landfills, so these facilities are the legal outlet in many states, and most charge a per-tire or per-ton fee that depends on size and whether the tire is on a rim. Large truck, agricultural and off-road tires usually cost more. Hours, fees and accepted materials vary — call ahead to confirm fees, rim policy and any limits on quantity.
