About this facility
A plastic recycling facility processes post-consumer and post-industrial plastic into flake or pellet that manufacturers use in place of virgin resin. Most plants specialize by resin type — PET bottles, HDPE jugs, polypropylene, film and bags, or industrial scrap such as purge and regrind — and buy baled material from MRFs, haulers and factories. Material is sorted, washed, ground and often extruded. Few of these facilities serve walk-in customers, but some accept clean sorted loads from businesses or run a buy-back program. Hours, fees and accepted materials vary — call ahead to confirm which resins are accepted, how clean and sorted they must be and whether small quantities are taken.
